Denying sex to spouse on first night ground for marriage annulment: Delhi high court

Wilful denial of sex, including that on the first night after wedding, by either of the spouse amounts to cruelty and can be a ground for dissolution of the marriage, the Delhi high court has ruled.

Justice Kailash Gambhir gave the verdict, upholding the lower court's decree of divorce to a man having a "sex-starved marriage" as his wife refused to have sexual intercourse with him on the wedding night and making him long for it for the subsequent five months, left her matrimonial home.

Sine Mora

This time-sensitive shooter is hard as hell, but undeniably fun.

Sine Mora review

Gamezone Review Rating
Seeing as how we won’t be getting another good “bullet hell” shooter for the next few months (Rising Star Games will release Cave’s Akai Katanaover the summer), fans of the not-so-traditional shooter line are searching for anything to bide their time with.  Fortunately, the lunatics over at Grasshopper Manufacture (and I say that with a positive spin) have finally released its long-awaited Sine Mora this week on Xbox Live Arcade.  With a manic story, an interesting new time-stopping/rewinding mechanic and a challenge that’s perfect for die-hard “shmup” fans, it’s definitely a game worthy of your attention.

Congress scores in Karnataka, Gujarat; routed in A.P.

The Congress won two morale-boosting victories in a string of bypolls, results for which came in on Wednesday: it snatched a Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka — taking its strength in the Lower House up to 207 — and an Assembly seat in Gujarat, both of which have been held by its principal national rival, the Bharatiya Janata Party, for the last 15 years. For the BJP, which is in power in both States, these two defeats don't augur well , especially as Assembly elections are due in Gujarat later this year and in Karnataka in 2013. But the Congress' celebrations in these two States, as well as the victory of the Kerala Congress (Jacob), its partner in the UDF government in Kerala, were offset by the ill-wind that blew in from Andhra Pradesh. Thanks to its shoddy handling of the Telangana issue, the party failed to win even one of the seven seats that went to the polls in a State in which it is in power.

India were on Tuesday night knocked out of the Asia Cup after Bangladesh continued their giant-killing act by upsetting Sri Lanka by five wickets in the last league match.
Chasing a revised target of 212 after a rain interruption, the spirited hosts held their nerve to make their maiden entry into the summit showdown of the tournament where they will meet Pakistan on Thursday.
Nasir Hossain (36 not out) hit the winning boundary straight down the ground as the home crowd at the jam-packed Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium went into a state of frenzy.

Supreme Court dismisses govt.’s review petition on Vodafone verdict

The Supreme Court today dismissed Government’s plea seeking review of its verdict which held that Income Tax Department does not have jurisdiction to levy Rs. 11,000 crore as tax on the overseas deal between Vodafone International Holdings and Hutchison Group.
A bench comprising Chief Justice S. H. Kapadia and Justice K. S. Radhakrishnan dismissed the Centre’s review petition in the Vodafone tax case during an in-chamber proceeding.
In the petition, the Centre contended there was a need for reconsidering the Janaury 20 verdict as the law on deciding the case involving the telecom major has not been correctly interpreted.
It had raised several points to contend that the verdict was erroneous.
The court had given the verdict allowing Vodafone’s appeal and had quashed the Bombay High Court verdict which had upheld the decision to levy tax on the overseas deal.
After the review petition was filed on February 17, the government in its March 16 budget proposed to amend the Income Tax Act to levy capital gains tax on domestic asset acquisition through merger and acquisition deals involving foreign companies.

Mamata has her way, Trivedi to quit

Apnaaadafun.blogspot.in
The embattled Railway Minister, Dinesh Trivedi, agreed to resign on Sunday evening, four days after he presented the Railway budget that angered his leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
“She [Mamata Banerjee] spoke to me. The Trinamool Congress wants me to resign,” Mr. Trivedi told journalists. “I told her [that] I will abide by the party's [decision] and resign.”
Sources in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), however, said no resignation letter was received from Mr. Trivedi.
Mr. Trivedi succumbed to pressure from the party after he had a telephone conversation with Ms. Banerjee on Sunday. “Dinesh Trivedi called in,” she told journalists in Kolkata, stressing: “He will resign. And he will stay in the party.”
Ms. Banerjee also said she was flying to New Delhi on Sunday night. She will preside over a meeting of the Trinamool Parliamentary Party scheduled for Monday afternoon.
While Ms. Banerjee is determined to see that her nominee for the Railway Minister, Mukul Roy, replies to the debate on the budget, it is not yet clear whether the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government will agree to that.
