How To Hack HTTP Passwords With Wireshark

Most of the websites on the Internet use HTTP protocol for comunication which runs on Port 80, The data send to the server is Un-encrpypted and goes in plain text. If you are using HTTPS (Port 443), The data will be send to the server encrypted. When ever you enter the data in a Form, Your browser either sends a POST Or Get Request to the webserver, In most cases you will see POST method used in forms. Now most of the websites on the internet use Http protocol for the authentication, which enables an attacker on the local area network to sniff every thing that goes through that form, That's the reason why you see websites like Paypal, Ebay, Gmail with https.


In this tutorial, I will show you how a hacker can hack passwords sent via http to the server with wireshark. Wireshark is a network analysis tool used to capture and analyze all the packets being send from your computer to the server.
Attack Scenario
Let's suppose that you went to starbucks to have a coffee with your friend, You have connected to the wifi hotspot, An attacker comes in and starts wireshark and captures your HTTP Post passwords and therefore compromising your security.
How To Hack HTTP Passwords With Wireshark
Before, you i show you how to hack http passwords, i would like to let you know that for a successful capture, your network card should be in Promiscuous mode, which will enable to capture all the traffic going through your network.

Step 1 - First of all download wireshark from the official website and install it on your computer.

Step 2 - Next open up wireshark click on analyze and click on interfaces at the top.


Step 3 - Next choose the appropriate interface and click on start. Wireshark would start sniffing the network.

Step 4 - Continue sniffing for around 10 minutes. Step 5 - After 10minutes stop the packet sniffing by going to the capture menu and clicking on Stop.

In the mean time, Log into any website (For Testing Purposes), having http Authentication.

Step 6 - Next set the filter to http.request.method == "POST", This will enable it to capture all the HTTP Post request going through your computer. Start analyzing the packets and locate the website in which you logged in having http authentication.



Step 7 - Next click on Follow TCP stream. You will see the username and password that you entered. In this particular senario i logged in my wordpress account, where i entered the username:admin and password:rafayhackingarticles, Since wordpress uses http for authentication, The data that was entered was successfully captured.

This year's pageant, held at Yashraj Studios, Andheri, marked a double milestone, given that 2013 celebrates the centenary of Indian cinema as well as the 50th year of the Miss India contest. In this span of time, India has won 34 international titles — second only to Venezuela. Host Manish Paul opened the evening with a nostalgic audiovisual tracing the golden history of the contest. From Nutan, Meher Castelino Mistry, Persis Khambatta and Zeenat Aman, down to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sushmita Sen and Priyanka Chopra, the winners have done the country proud. 

The crowns the winners wear are laden with significance. The Miss India crown bears a peacock feather in the centre, symbolizing the graceful, proud national bird of India. The tiara worn by the first runner-up derives inspiration from 'the curves of a woman', albeit in a metaphorical sense. The curves represent the ups and downs that confront a woman on her journey to the top. The crown for the second runner-up is modelled along the 'ladder of success', showing the levels a contestant has to cross to win the pageant.
The event started with host Manish Paul quoting an Urdu verse celebrating womanhood. As the event's judges, Karan Johar, Asin, Shiamak Davar, Yuvraj Singh, Ritu Kumar, Chitrangada Singhand John Abraham, entered, their fans rose and cheered. 

And then, kitted out in black, ivory and flame, the contestants, aged 18-25, walked down the ramp and introduced themselves. They had come from all over the country—Assam's Dibrugarh to Orissa's Bhubaneswar, Patna to Pune, and the metro cities. Among them were models, actors and even an aeronautical engineer and a yoga trainer. 

Comedy trio Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani pretended to gatecrash the event to ease the nerves of the women onstage. They performed a ribald act before moving on to a dance medley. Miss India has long been known as a passport to cinema and there were no pretensions this time. All 23 finalists wore ethnic Bharatanatyam costumes or ghagra-cholis and danced to a robust 'Radha Teri Chunri' as if they were ready for the next logical step. 

A special award called woman of substance was given to Urmi Basu for her work in the field of prostitution and trafficking. It was presented by Miss India 2012 Vanya Mishra.

Sony showcased its new flagship phone Sony Z at a press meet in Chennai earlier this week, but an interesting piece of information that one heard was the launch of a new budget smartphone Xperia E next month.

With multiple products lined up — the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia E — Sony India hopes to take the smartphone fight in India to the level of the dominant Samsung and the emergent Apple. According to the latest statistics from technology research firm IDC, Samsung headed the smartphone market in the last quarter of 2012 with a 38 per cent share with Apple jumping to the second spot with a 15 per cent share because of its revamped distribution strategy of selling through smaller stores, and at affordable EMI schemes. Sony was in the third spot with a 9 per cent share.

Now with Sony Z, the company’s new flagship phone priced at an MRP of Rs. 38,990, Sony India says it has kick-started a campaign to triple the sales of its Xperia brand of smart devices in the country, and challenge the likes of Samsung and recover lost ground. At the briefing, Sachin Thapar, business head of Xperia, Sony India said: “With the launch of Xperia Z, we hope to triple our sales to Rs. 3,500 crore for the financial year 2013, more than doubling the sales channel counters to 8,000 and increasing the service touch points to 300.”

In what should augur well for consumers, Sony has also decided to throw open its exhaustive Sony Music library open to users with a 6-month free unlimited streaming and download option on its 15-lakh strong catalogue of international, Bollywood and regional songs. Nokia and Samsung have already been offering such free offers on purchase of their smartphones, but in terms of range and scale, Sony Music is way more exhaustive and it is a surprise that it took the company so long to get to the decision.

Sony Z seems to be a solid flagship offering from the Japanese electronics giant, combining the best of its already available technologies: the 13 megapixel camera on it leverages its Exmor camera sensor, its display is powered by Bravia Engine 2 and its music the Walkman technology.

Powered by a Snapdragon 4 Quadcore Engine and running the Android Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system, the 5-inch full HD screen handset with a 13 mega-pixel fast-capture back camera is dust and water resistant. Last year, Sony candidly agreed that its flagship had failed to take on the likes of iPhones and the Samsung Galaxys. But with Sony Z, it seems to have hit the winning formula.

While Sony Xperia Z wowed the media with its prowess, the other scene-stealers were the Xperia E and Xperia E dual that were previewed ahead of their next month release date. Blackberry has been the epitome of a business smartphone for some time now. But over the past few years, the Canadian firm manufacturing it, Research in Motion (RIM), has lost precious ground to emerging mobile operating systems such as Apple's iOS and Google's Android in terms of sheer innovation.

Reinventing mobile OS

The Blackberry 10 experience promises to be unlike anything already available in the market.

'Peek' allows Blackberry 10 users to quickly get to their notifications centre with a simple upward swipe. This is pretty handy because there are times when a person is immersed in an App — a game for example — where it makes it cumbersome to glance back at notifications to know if there is an email or a text message to respond to. ‘Peek’ allows Blackberry 10 users to be in touch with the notifications at a single finger swipe.

The ‘Flow’ is integrated into the overall user-interface experience and takes touch technology to a more exciting level of engagement. For example, if a person is looking at an email, the 'Flow' interface of Blackberry 10 would allow him to swipe all the way from the inbox to the email to its attachment, all at one go. To understand this better, here’s a suggestion. Look at the YouTube videos of the Blackberry World 2012 demo by Vivek Bharadwaj that went viral last year.

The Blackberry 10 also features the ‘Hub’ concept that allows users to integrate contacts, calendar, email and social Apps such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Foursquare under one umbrella. (The ‘Hub’ concept is similar to the ‘Social Hub’ seen on Windows 8 phones.)

With the Blackberry 10, RIM has also introduced a smart predictive typing interface, that recognises the words commonly used by the user and makes those words a suggestion as the user gets acclimatised to his phone. The smart assistant gets smarter the more the Blackberry is used.

One of the biggest challenges Blackberry 10 faces will be the availability of local Apps as the devices get ready to hit Indian shores by February-end.

Several App developers have been able to develop directly and also port their other platform Apps on to Blackberry 10 with ease. Speak Asia : Second batch of test payout in January 2013

An association was also formed named AISPA , All India Speakasia Panelist Association which took the charge of safeguarding the rights of the Speakasia online panelist but was not able to make much more than filing out some application and writ petitions in the court which till now some of them has been withdrawn or some of them has been disposed by the concerning court.

There was also a writ petition ( WP 323 )  filed in the Honorable Supreme court of INDIA by a group of panelist for returning the panelist sum which after a long duration was withdrawn and disposed by the court without any favorable outcome for the panelists . The supreme court in its order disposed the case by giving authority to the Mumbai court to make the final result and so happened as Mumbai court allowed the EOW to continue its stagnant Investigation.

This was the all scenario which passes on, but after the disposal of the WP 323 some thing came in favor for the panelist that the company took charge to distribute a series of test payments to those panelist who wants to exit out of the company profile. The company in its latest communication on 21 Nov said,
“On the payout front, the company had sent out the first set of test remittances to the bank accounts of some of the panelists. The company at the moment is collating the data as to who all have received it and for those who didn’t get it, the company is identifying the cause and finding remedial solutions for it. Once this exercise is complete the company will then start the payout process in full swing. “

We have also got some proof for the payments made by the company to the panelists during last few days which looks as a good news for the panelists who have got there money back. Some snapshots are posted here ..

It can seem to be good to see the proof but it is not finished yet since there are more than 1 million panelists who are waiting for there turns and from them are also those who don’t want to exit but want to remain a part of the company. It can now be speculated that the probe can continue for more time against Speakasia but also company is now a bit free to put on its efforts for the business Restart. Even there is a question which rises here ” The website is with EOW, how will the company going to get its database for start up? ” can be answered as simply as similarly as they have explored there business to such an extent without a permanent office in India and made a market of more than 1 million panelist or Rs 2000 crore.

For the people who wants to know about the exit option and how to exit, we would like to inform that exit option is closed for now since it is in process for the past applications. The company is making a promise to start it up again as soon as the old one get cleared and for the people who does not wants to exit are asked to wait as they are waiting for more than 15 months.

Till today there was a case WP 3210/2011, 3211/2011 listed in the Mumbai court today for the final disposal for quashing the F.I.R. against speakasia and was adjourned for December 7, 2012.It leaves us with a no matter to altercate and it can now be easily understood that if the company wants a Restart than company will be putting more efforts and worries for that since its a matter of having a Database of more than 1 million people and it has a lot value for a ‘Business’.

SpeakAsia Exit option started.

As per the recent Order passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court, the mediation proceedings have come to an end. As far as clerical vacancies are concerned, they may take some time as they can be announced only after finishing the currently ongoing clerical recruitment process for which Interviews are being conducted currently. So clerical notification is expected to arrive in Late 2012 (Dec - Jan).

Sony Xperia Sola Review

The Xperia Sola was launched along with the likes of the Sony Xperia S and Xperia P – two of the most high-end handsets a couple of months ago. While The S and the P were strikingly similar in terms of designs as well as features, the Sola, Sony’s mid-range offering comes with its own set of unique traits.

Design

We’ve pointed this out earlier and won’t be wrong in doing so, hopefully, for some more time to come - Sony handsets, across price ranges, are endowed with a certain level of aesthetics which competitors often fail to emulate. The Sony Xperia Sola is no exception. Although it doesn’t come with the transparent LED-lit bar that has becomes Sony’s trademark lately, it still manages to look convincingly premium.

The Xperia Sola features a 3.7-inch touchscreen with a slightly recessed bottom panel. Running on Android Gingerbread (Ver 2.3.7), the smartphone gives you five homescreens to play around with. Sony’s proprietary widgets also come handy – with one-touch buttons to enable Wi-Fi, Mobile Internet, NFC and so on. The keypad on the Sola felt slightly more cramped than it did in the Sony Xperia U or Xperia S. Most of the time, it was more comfortable for us to type on the virtual keypad in the landscape mode rather than the portrait mode.

Features

The Sola is the first of Sony’s handsets to feature a new technology called ‘floating touch’. The proximity sensor on the device tracks the location of your finger, hovering above the screen, when you are browsing the Web. The smartphone then automatically starts highlighting the portions that you might want to click on. While it’s something that is not absolutely essential to the browsing experience, I guess it helps a bit to have something like this especially on smaller touchscreens.

Xperia Sola, like most other smartphones entering the Indian market now, is NFC-enabled. While we await NFC services and apps to catch on in the country, an NFC-enabled smartphone such as the Sola can be used with SmartTags (included with the Xperia Sola in select countries) and can be personalised with up to 10 commands. By default, the smartphones are designed to be used to turn the Wi-Fi on or launch Google Maps. Xperia Sola supports NFC pairing hence you can pair this smartphone to another and interchange media, apps, and data with a quick tap.

Timescape remains the same ol’ interface with feeds from Twitter and status updates from Facebook sharing the same space on your touchscreen.

Camera

The Sony Xperia Sola comes with a 5-meg clicker and it gave us really good images for a device with that capacity. Most times, the colours were rich and well-saturated with barely a blur on any of the pictures we shot. The light from the flash too was evenly distributed in most of the pictures we shot in low light. Despite the fact that the Sola’s clicker did not feature Sony's proprietary Exmor R, the device still managed to impress with its clicks.

The Sola, like the Xperia S and P, also gives you the option of clicking pictures with a ‘3D Camera’ app. It’s not exactly 3D like the LG Optimus 3D Max, which renders pictures shot in 3D. You can only take Sweep panoramas and a Multi-Angle Panorama shots (which we were not sure could be put to good use in any situation).

However, images shot with both the modes were a lot grainier than would be desirable.

Performance

The Xperia Sola is powered by a 1GHz dual core processor. On our usual Quadrant Standard benchmark test, the Sola clocked in 2253 points ranking beneath the likes of LG Optimus 2X and Samsung Galaxy Nexus and scoring more than HTC Desire HD and Samsung Nexus S.

The 1320 mAh battery wasn’t powerful enough to keep the device running for a full work day. There were times when without any apparent activity (no voice calls even), the device would still have run out of power after a full charge in less than a day.

The quality of voice calls on the device gave us no room for complaints. Although it wasn’t very obviously loud and clear as with, say a BlackBerry device, it still made for clear enough conversation.

While we had no complaints with the performance or build of the Xperia Sola, we are a little disappointed with the fact that the battery isn’t powerful enough to handle a modern-age workday, which inevitably involves a lot of calls and constant connection to the internet. The battery dying out within the end of day is one of the most frustrating things to happen, especially when it is a fairly expensive smartphone that is at hand.

Laptops, tablets and their problems with heat

The summer’s excess heat isn’t just tough on people. When it hits 30 degrees in the shade, computers can struggle too.

Most modern computers come with some kind of safeguards against heat. But that doesn’t mean some extra steps can’t be taken to protect them: not least of all making sure they have enough fresh air.

When temperatures skyrocket, computers might start slowing down.

In extreme cases, they might even suffer damage, warns Stephan Scheuer of TUV Rheinland, an agency that rates consumer products.

“If the ambient temperatures go up by 10 degrees for an extended period, then the life expectancy of a computer can half,” says Scheuer.

Short-term temperature spikes don’t have such a dramatic effect, but can still have long-term consequences.

That’s why users should always be on the lookout for signs that a computer is suffering from heat stress. Keep an eye out for lowered performance. Even a ventilation fan that goes on for no apparent reason can be a reason for suspicion.

“You’re more likely to notice high temperatures in a laptop on the underside,” says Scheuer. As a test, he recommends putting the laptop on one’s lap. If the heat grows unbearable within 30 seconds, then the computer needs a break.

Still, it’s unusual for a computer to crash due to excess heat these days. Most will shut themselves down as a precaution before it gets that far.

“If you’ve had the device at the lake in the sunshine and then try to turn it on, it can be that it won’t start up,” says Juergen Ripperger of VDE, the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technology in Germany.

Some models will also warn about heat problems before an automatic shutdown. But one should not rely on these safeguards, warns Ripperger. If the computer has been overhauled or the battery replaced, some temperature controls might not work any more. “I would not rule out the danger of fire here,” he says.

Ripperger recommends reading the warning notes in the manual.

Here, users will find how high surrounding temperatures can be. Otherwise, users just have to be careful about how they go about operating the machine.

“The important thing is that warm air can be cleared without hindrance.” That means the computer can’t be set up on a pillow or a blanket, and that the ventilation exits cannot be blocked. Be sure to keep clear the vents on the back or side and ensure that the machine has some space around it. “At least 20 centimetres to the wall,” recommends Scheuer.

You can provide fresh air with a small fan. And be sure to give the computer regular short breaks during the summer and avoid doing demanding jobs like video editing or graphics rendering for long periods.

Just like notebooks, tablets can be sensitive to sunshine and heat. These touchscreen devices don’t rely on vents and fans for cooling. That means less annoying noise and that they can be set upon a blanket while working. However, they get away with this by giving off heat via their exterior hull.

“In borderline situations, that can become very noticeable,” says Christian Just, an editor with Computer Bild. “But it doesn’t usually become uncomfortable, unless it’s right on the bare skin, if you’re wearing shorts, for example.” High temperatures can be especially noticeable in models with metallic housing, which conduct heat better than plastic.

Check out programmes like CoreTemp, SpeedFan or PC Wizard if you want some help monitoring temperatures. But be aware, they only show how hot the processor is.

“Other computer parts might be warmer,” warns Scheuer. After all, the processor produces a lot of heat, but is also, generally, pretty well cooled. Keep in mind, as a rule of thumb, electronics shouldn’t get warmer than 60 degrees.
